Thanks to TMZ for letting us know about a new case against Stephenie Meyer in which she’s accused of ripping off some unknown vampire novel for the fourth installment of the series ‘Breaking Dawn’ by an equally unknown writer. According to TMZ:
Turns out Stephenie Meyer, the woman behind the Twilight series, isn’t the only
person to write about sexy vampires — ’cause she’s being accused of ripping off the
storyline for her fourth ultra-successful book by a less famous, less rich author.A woman named Jordan Scott fired off a cease and desist letter to the publisher of
“Breaking Dawn” — the fourth book in the series — claiming the Twilight tale
contains a “striking and substantial similarity” to Scott’s book, “The Nocturne.”In her extremely detailed letter , Scott
claims her book was published in 2006 — two years before “Breaking Dawn” — and
it’s no coincidence that many of the scenes are almost identical. Such as…– Both books contain a post-wedding sex scene
– Both books contain a scene about a woman who’s sick because she’s carrying a
child with “evil powers”
– Both books contain a scene with the death of the main character’s wifeAnd according to Scott, the dialogue in all of these scenes — and more — is
extremely similar. But Meyer’s rep is calling BS — telling TMZ, “The claim that ‘Breaking Dawn’ by
Stephenie Meyer somehow infringes on an alleged book by someone named Jordan Scott
is completely without merit. Neither Stephenie Meyer nor her representatives had any
knowledge of this writer or her supposed book prior to this claim.”
You know you’ve made it when some loser tries to accuse you of stealing their unknown work. It happened to J.K. Rowling and Stephen King!

I think that this scott personell should have dispatched a letter once the book was published hense maybe he was seeking attention
Suing Meyer for plagiarism because “both books contain a post-wedding sex scene” and a “scene about a woman who’s sick because she’s carrying a child with ‘evil powers’” is like the owner of the rights to Grimm’s Fairy Tales suing someone because they wrote a book about a princess! Scott’s assertions are way too broad. She’ll never win her case against Meyer; it’s absolutely ridiculous.
Okay for one Renesmee does not have evil powers….Where do they see that in where in the book???? She needs to go back and read the all the books and get her facts straight…
“In several distant instances, the main character refers to his wife as ‘love’ in dialogue”. – Yeah, it’s totally unusual that someone calls his wife “love” so Stephenie must have stolen this great idea from that person
And both books contain a wedding and sex, which of course are very rare themes. Never read about anything like that before. Stephenie must habe stolen the idea!
She should sue every author of a book that was published after 2006 and is about love because certainly those authors have stolen some of her self-invented themes like love!
