Twilight Buses All Over Mexico City

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

There have been several Twilight buses seen all over Mexico city lately. They were probably seen around since last year, but we just managed to see them/ take pictures. This one was taken North of Mexico City. It has the nomad vampires on the sides, and Edward and Bella on the back.

There’s another version of this bus, this picture was taken by ChanceCC. Edward and Bella on the sides, and on the back of the bus.

If you have other cool Twilight pictures like these, send them over ;)

Hollywood.com’s 2nd Part of the Interview With Charlie Bewley Talks About His Co-Stars

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Hollywood.com has the second part of their interview with Charlie Bewley. This time, Charlie talks about his co-stars, the other Volturi members in ‘New Moon’.

About Daniel Cudmore, Felix. “Dan is really funny. He has this running monologue on life that he just mumbles s–t all day long. Dan’s a really cool guy; we get on really well. His character is ruthlessly efficient and strong. He’s an enforcer. I think we work really well together as Demetri and Felix.”

About Jamie Campbell Bower, Caius. “Jamie is a clown. He’s great. He’s massively funny as well. Very down to Earth, just a normal guy. He’s a very personable person. He really lights up a room. He plays guitar and everything. He’s just a really cool guy. I was surprised how tall he was. I always thought of him as this little kid. He’s really cool.”

About Cameron Bright, Alec. “Cameron. I was surprised that Cameron is such a little skater kid. Such a skater, thinks he’s so cool. He’s been doing this for a long time. And he’s just immensely down to Earth and very easy to talk to for a 16-year-old kid. I haven’t seen too much of his character yet. But with Jane and Alec, they’re both very still. In fact we’re all very still people … I think it’s just a mood thing for scenes. We’re all very in control in our own separate ways. It wouldn’t look right if the Volturi were all just running around like idiots. Like headless chickens. Totally neurotic. We’re in control. We’re the mafia.”

About Dakota Fanning, Jane. “Dakota is wonderful. I love her to bits. She’s so cool. I can’t wait ‘til she turns 18. Her character is dangerous. She’s quite unnerving as a person. She’s very quiet, very quiet because she’s a very kind of centered person. She’s got red contact lenses on her eyes, which is very unnerving.”

About Christopher Heyerdahl, Marcus. “Very observant. Very cool guy. Just knows a lot of stuff. He’s been around. You sit around him and feed off him and soak him up. The way he talks as Marcus is so dead. His voice is so dead. He’s got this 3000-year-old voice, and he just wants to die. It’s addictive to listen to, how low he gets.”

About Michael Sheen, Aro. “His reputation precedes him. He’s done a lot of biopics … He’s a very good impersonator. Very good at putting himself in someone’s shoes … like Jamie Foxx did in Ray, he’s very good in those roles. As Aro, he’s delightfully charming but in the most evil subtext. He’s very dangerous, and very sinister. As a guy, I didn’t get to talk to him too much. He was only on set for two days.”

New Charlie Bewyley Interview

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Hollywood.com has a great interview with Charlie Bewley. Here’s an excerpt.

Bewley’s role in New Moon is his first professional acting gig, and it thrusts him into the unique position of being at once both fresh to the Hollywood solar system and very, very famous in the alternative universe that is the Twilight subculture. Bewley, however, says he doesn’t feel “suddenly famous” and admits he’s long dealt with being well-known, saying, cryptically, that he’s “always been fairly infamous in the circles I travel in.”

Now, he’s immensely in demand among the human waves of teen girls who mobbed him while he was shooting New Moon on location in Montepulciano, Italy.

“Italy was a dream. Very surreal,” Bewley says. “I think everyone there, no matter who it was, Rob [Pattinson], Kristen [Stewart], [director] Chris [Weitz] or anyone else would say that it was an experience that they may never go through again. The hospitality of the whole thing, the way they treated us, the whole setting was so magnificent. “

“I was just swamped with 15-year-old girls wherever I went. My inner 14-year-old teenager in my head had a great time.”

While being pursued through the streets of Montepulciano by Twilight fanatics was a magical experience for him, Bewley acquiesces that there is a pressure induced by the immenseness of Twilight‘s popularity that he has yet to experience in the way that the film’s perpetually photographed leads have.

“Rob, I feel sorry for him a little bit,” Bewley says. “I feel for him, because he’s like a paparazzi fugitive right now. He can’t leave his house. He’s the most photographed person in the world.”

Bewley says it’s hard for him to say whether the attention Pattinson receives might make it difficult for the fellow Brit to enjoy his success, but that he, “can’t imagine he would ever say he wishes it didn’t happen, but it is a ridiculous thing to happen to anyone. He’s gone from zero to hero in six months, and his life is just totally turned upside down. I don’t know. I didn’t really speak to him in depth that much about it. But me in that situation, I think I just enjoy the parts of life that he can’t do right now too much.”

Make sure you read the whole interview at the source. Very interesting stuff.

Eclipse Filming Locations Being Kept a Secret

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Canada.com reports the following:

While crews were filming at a closed location south of Nanaimo for the past week, the unit publicist in Vancouver was unable on Monday to provide much more information than had already been dug up by curious and enthusiastic fans.

“Eclipse did film visual effects shots near Nanaimo for two days last week,” said Toni Atterbury with CM Productions Canada.

Security around Twilight locations on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland has been exceptionally tight. Stars Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart are back in Vancouver making the third film in the trilogy, Eclipse, until the end of October, attracting unusually keen attention from fans.

The young stars are tracked by fans to their hotel and favourite restaurants and any bars and clubs where they might try to sneak a drink or see a band.

Fans travel from all over North America and as far away as New Zealand to track their vampire heroes with the hope of getting a picture or an autograph. In some cases they have flocked to filming locations by the hundreds, creating unprecedented security headaches for the producers.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Eclipse producers had asked newspaper websites and radio stations outlets in Vancouver not to disclose the filming locations, citing possible security and safety concerns for both the cast and crew, as well as the fans.

MIT’s Online Newspaper Discusses Twilight’s Reinvention of Vampire Mythology

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

MIT’s Online Newspaper has a great article about Twilight’s original take on vampires, which are not at all like any traditional vampires in other movies and books.

The recent Stephenie Meyer phenomenon of Twilight has raised some very divisive questions among fantasy fans. All debating over artistic merit aside, up for contention is the matter of exactly how many liberties an author can take with established monster lore. The concept of the vampire has been around for centuries, and the Twilight series seems to incorporate very little of it. Fine, so Edward Cullen drinks blood, is sort of ancient, and has a mild allergy to sunlight, but then again, so does Ozzy Osbourne. Few would mistake Ozzy for a vampire, and much fewer would mistake him for the lead in a romance novel.

Traditional vampires, in various incarnations, have taken issue with garlic, wooden stakes, cruciforms, silver, running water, and anything with the word “holy” in front of it, which I guess makes Robin the Boy Wonder the ultimate vampire slayer. Sunlight is often portrayed as their greatest weakness and teenage girls as their mild annoyance, rather than vice versa. On top of that, they typically sleep in coffins and have special attachments to their home soil, none of which seem to factor into the Cullens’ interior decorating so much as the IKEA catalog. I suppose if none of your furniture is actual wood, it nullifies any chance of accidental impalement by stake, not that it would matter to a Twilight vampire. Supposedly, vampires also can’t enter a person’s home without being invited in, which Edward Cullen violates in a manner both impossible for canon vampires and
