The Independent has an article talking about the higher sales in pale foundation reported by several make up companies. All companies have Twilight to thank for this new trend.
British paper, the Daily Star quoted Eric Jimenez, global make-up artist for Urban Decay Cosmetics, as saying: “Due to films such as Twilight, people have begun to see that pale skin can still be sophisticated, timeless and glamorous.
“We’ve had higher sales in our Surreal Skin foundations due to their natural-looking shades. Women are beginning to embrace their pale skin and are finding that you don’t need to look bronzed to be beautiful.”
Meanwhile, British Marie Claire confirms that sales of pale skin foundation have gone through the roof since the premier of New Moon:
“Cosmetic companies have seen a 200 per cent rise in customers snapping up pale foundation powders and liquids, which coincides with the Twilight: New Moon film,” the magazine’s beauty editors write.
Online company FeelUnique, reports that its best-selling product is now a fine, pale pink illuminating powder by Bare Escentuals called Mineral Veil, while sales of L’Oreal’s True Match powder in Rose Ivory have also risen by 133 per cent.
