How Many Actresses Will Play Renesmee in Breaking Dawn?

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

On Monday night Entertainment Weekly broke the news that 9 year old Mackenzie Foy was very close to signing on for the role Renesmee in Breaking Dawn. We still don’t have official confirmation from Summit, but movie site Moviehole claims that a Summit contact confirmed exclusively to them that Mackenzie will indeed play the role.

Also in Moviehole’s site we have some interesting casting call information for the role of Renesmee. In this casting call they are looking for a 4 year old girl.

RENESEMEE – CASTING CALL

Wanted: 4 year old Caucasian girl. Some acting – and dancing – experience. Must be confident on a film set. Must have self-composure, good physical posture, and be very attentive, able to take direction well, and be quick to react.

IMPORTANT: L.A and NYC talent only.

All submissions should be made to the following:

Pamella Pearl Debra Zane Casting TSBD Submission 5225 Wilshire Blvd. Suite 536 Los Angeles, CA 90036

Do not call.

The following is the character description for “Renesmee” based on the Stephenie Meyer Twilight series novels and comprised of the Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse, films:

According to Moviehole this casting call information was released earlier this week, so while they confirm that Mackenzie is playing the part, this leads us to believe that more than one girl will play the role of Renesmee, who is supposed to age abnormally fast. Entertainment Weekly suggested that CGI effects could be used to age the character (like they did with Brad Pitt in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) but this information suggests that perhaps CGI effects will not be needed.

Of course we’re just speculating at this point, but this should put at ease the fans’ concerns that Mackenzie is too old to play the role.

What do you guys think?

IMDB has no information on the movie so far, except a release year for 2013.

Stephenie Meyer on The New Statesman’s List Of People Who Mattered in 2010

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

The New Statesman’s list of 50 people who had global influence in 2010 has been released and Stephenie made it to #28:

Fang leader.

With 100 million copies sold and three films that have grossed over $1bn, the Twilight sagas have made the author one of the most powerful, and richest, women in publishing.

Meyer’s Mormon beliefs permeate the vampire trilogy with themes of chastity and self-control, making Twilight propaganda for America’s growing abstinence movement.

Other people on the list include Oprah Winfrey, Pope Benedict XVI, Presidents Barack Obama, Felipe Calderon, and Hugo Chavez among others, Bill Gates, James Cameron and Lady Gaga. Very few people from the entertainment industry and writers or artists were on the list that is mostly composed of political figures.

Anyway, do you agree that Twilight is propaganda for America’s abstinence movement?

Mackenzie Foy To Play Renesmee in Breaking Dawn

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

According to Entertainment Weekly, this is your Renesmee! Meet Mackenzie Foy!

Now EW.com has learned that little 9-year old Mackenzie Foy is inches away from signing on to play Renesmee, Edward and Bella’s vampire/human love child that’s a central role in the final installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

So far Mackenzie has appeared on TV shows like FlashForward and ‘Til Death.

Now how will they make her look older, since Renesmee ages very fast?

Sources have suggested that director Bill Condon will employ similar digital effects to those used by David Fincher in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where Foy’s face would be digitally transferred onto the face of a younger child. It’s also probable that the studio will hire a younger child in some capacity, too.

Her official site has since been taken down with a mesage of temporary hiatus (probably all the Twilight fans killed their server), but here are more pictures of the lovely Mackenzie:

She hasn’t been officially confirmed by Summit, and judging by the article she hasn’t been signed on yet, so let’s just wait for it. In the meantime:

What do you think about Mackenize?
