Kristen’s Arm Still In A Splint

Monday, February 28th, 2011

Kristen was leaving Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon, heading to Vancouver. It was reported that she and Rob attended an Oscar party last week, though we don’t have pictures from the event.
It’s worth noting that her arm is still in a splint, so could the injury be more serious than we thought? Could it be broken? Hopefully whatever happened is not serious. There’s still so much to film in Vancouver.

Get well, Kristen! :)

UPDATE: Apparently the “epic Twilight moment” was an autotuned remix of the line “Doesn’t he own a shirt?” in Eclipse. Yeah… But hey, at least we got this moment of Woody longing for Bella. Team Woody, anyone?

Jennifer Lawrence Talks About Auditioning for Bella Swan And Being a Twilight Fan

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

Academy Award nominee Jennifer Lawrence auditioned for the role of Bella Swan before Catherine Hardwicke met with Kristen Stewart. She was a big Twilight fan and read all the books for her audition.

Q: What insights did you get from reading the book? Sometimes actors don’t like to read the book before they play the character.
JL:
It was important to read the book because I imagined myself at a Q&A with people that loved the book. I love the Twilight books. I’m not even ashamed to say it, they are like methamphetamine to me. So when I heard Kristen Stewart say, “I only read the first one,” I was like, “Oh man,” because she wasn’t a huge fan of the books. I was like, for the book lovers I should probably read the books.

I honestly don’t know if the book helped. It could have helped to hear the inner dialog of your character, but that would have been if I was doing an exact replica of the book. Sometimes if a script is based on a book, that’s what you should do: represent the book. I don’t know what I’m doing, so whatever you think happened, great.

I’m reading the script, I’m learning my lines, and then reading the book, so I read it kind of chapter to chapter. It could have helped me, but it might not have. I’m still in this early stage where I’m still learning about myself and my craft and what helps me, and what I’ve realized mostly is that I don’t have that much of a craft.

Don’t forget to see Winter’s Bone, for which she’s nominated for Best Actress.

Catherine Hardwicke on Rob’s Audition for Twilight

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

Catherine Harwicke spoke to Newsweek about her movie Red Riding Hood and how she’s discovered youn talent for her movies, one of them Robert Pattinson. Here are some highlights:

On plucking Rob’s eyebrows.
They were a bit bushy. We needed to see some eyes!

On her first impression of Rob.
I looked at a couple pictures and was like, ‘I’m not sure,’? He had been fired from his last job, he was unemployed, he was in debt.

On Rob and Kristen’s instant chemistry.
“I have footage of their first meeting at my dining-room table. Kristen was like, ‘It’s got to be Rob!’ She felt connected to him from the first moment. “That electricity, or love at first sight, or whatever it is.” Hardwicke gave him the part, but he had to make a promise. “You’ve got to realize that Kristen is 17 years old,” she told him. “She’s underage. You’ve got to focus, dude, or you’re going to be arrested. I made him swear on a stack of Bibles.”

Nikki Reed chimes in.
That’s also where Pattinson kissed Stewart for the first time in his Twilight screen test. “That bed made Pattinson who he is right now,” says Reed.

Jackson Rathbone Talks Rob and Kisten Chemistry: “It Sizzles!”

Saturday, February 26th, 2011

E! Online caught up with Jackson at Leeza Gibbons’ Dare2Care Pre-Oscar Cocktail party where he was asked about the love scenes in Breaking Dawn. He shared:

“It’s definitely sexy. It definitely qualifies as shmexaaay. It’s a PG-13 movie, but also it is what it is and it’s a union. They are consummating their relationship and they don’t just do it once, let’s put it that way.

It sizzles, man. It sizzles like bacon!

Shiloh Fernandez Discusses Almost Being Edward Cullen (Again)

Saturday, February 26th, 2011

Shiloh Fernandez is discussing once again how he was almost cast as Edward Cullen, this time to Interview magazine.

JACOBS: How close were you to getting the role of Edward Cullen in Twilight?
FERNANDEZ:
You’ll have to ask Catherine. It appears that I was closer than I maybe remember. I did have a screen test and signed contracts and all that. But the thing that came out of it, whether I was second runner-up or not, was that Catherine and I liked each other, and she was gracious enough to keep me in mind for other things. I really don’t know how close I was to getting the part in Twilight. Did I want the part? I did. But I don’t think I was right or ready for it. And I don’t think anybody knew that it was going to be what it’s turned out to be. When Riding Hood came along, I thought it was a much better fit.

JACOBS: Is it strange to consider Robert Pattinson’s life? How that madness could have been yours?
FERNANDEZ:
I don’t think it ever could have been mine. I think it would have been really, really bad for me. He seems like a really neat guy who’s handled himself amazingly well. I’m very grateful at this point that I didn’t get it. I remember when my agent called to tell me I didn’t get it. And then the next day I had an audition for something else. [laughs] When it came out, I was doing a movie with Ashley Greene, who’s in Twilight, and we went to the movies and watched it. It is a funny experience but I can’t say that it was one of the movies I was heartbroken over not getting.

The Twilight Saga Soundtracks Vol. 1 Has Reached Certified Gold

Saturday, February 26th, 2011

According to Homemediamagazine.com, The Twilight Saga Soundtracks Vol. 1 Has Reached Certified Gold has been a huge success.

Nowadays Steve Nickerson, Summit Entertainment’s president of home entertainment, isn’t surprised by how well anything “Twilight” does at retail.

So when the Recording Industry Association of America, or RIAA, announced this month that the combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases of Music Videos and Performances from The Twilight Saga Soundtracks Vol. 1 had reached RIAA-certified gold status Nickerson was more pleased than surprised.

“It’s a little bit of a unique project we developed with Atlantic [Records], and we’re happy with the consumer reaction to it,” he said. “Each of the three individual soundtracks did more than well, and while any of the videos may be available through the individual artists, to put them all together in a product was a unique opportunity,”

More Clues About Twilight at The Oscars: “Twilight Mindblowing Event”

Friday, February 25th, 2011

We informed you this week that an Oscars producer made a video mentioning Twilight fans and urging us to watch the Oscars on Sunday night. What could it be? The cast has presented before (Rob in 2009, Kristen and Taylor in 2010) and whatever they have planned for Twilight fans is said to be “mindblowing”, so it’s not just someone presenting. It’s something bigger. Question is, what? Here are some tweets about it.

@TwilightLexicon just heard on Ryan Seacrest that a special Twilight mindblowing event will occur during the Oscars!
@KaylaOpenhome
Kayla Griffith
@TwilightLexicon The announcement came from the producer of the Oscars. Not actors, but next best thing media wise!
@KaylaOpenhome
Kayla Griffith

I find this interesting, especially since I believe the first person to tease us was MTV’s Josh Horowitz:

Yesterday we confirmed a super exciting event in the not so distant future that is going to make many of you go crazy. #annoyingvaguetweets
@joshuahorowitz
Josh Horowitz
And yeah there's a twilight connection but that's truly all I can say for a while (the event is at least a few weeks away). Trust me...
@joshuahorowitz
Josh Horowitz

He posted that on Twitter on February 18, weeks away from the Oscars. Is this what he was referring to? Maybe.

Now this is what I think it’s NOT possible:

Cast presenting. Pretty cool? Yes. Mindblowing? Hardly. It’s something better and very unexpected.
Footage of Breaking Dawn? This is not the MTV Movie Awards. The Oscars do not promote future productions. Never have, never will. This is not a stage for that.

This is what I think IS possible:

Twilight sketch featuring the cast. A cool little short film, something funny featuring the actual cast.
A performance with the cast. Rob sings. Kristen sings. Anne Hathaway and James Franco are the presenters and they sing. We’ve heard since Oscars promotion started that they want this show to be young and fun. Could it be a live musical/comedy opening about Twilight featuring the actual stars? Sounds crazy, but it’s the only thing I would call “mindblowing”.
A Twilight musical parody/song without the cast. Since they’re filming Breaking Dawn, it might be impossible to also prepare for Oscar night. So maybe there will be a fun Twilight little number, but no cast members performing. Maybe Franco and Hathaway will be Edward and Bella?

Whatever it is, it better be good because now we’re intrigued, excited and definitely waiting for it. Check back Sunday morning for links to livestreams and also check your local listings to watch the Oscars on TV. Follow us on Twitter for live updates and commentary: @TwilightPoison. We like to live tweet HQ screencaps, so it will be worth it!

Leave your thoughts in the comments.

UPDATE: Producer confirms no Rob, Kristen or Taylor:

83rd Annual Academy Award producer Bruce Cohen, who’s an Oscar winner himself, phoned in Friday morning to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” to give us the inside scoop on the upcoming award show, hosts Anne Hathaway and James Franco, as well as revealed more on the surprise in store for the “Twilight” Twihard’s will “blow people’s minds” as well!
