Hugh Jackman Offered Role of Huntsman in Kristen’s Snow White

Viggo Mortensen is no longer attached to Kristen’s Snow White adaptation, Snow White and the Huntsman . Deadline reports that a new Huntsman has been found in Hugh Jackman:

Sensing a possible opening with Hugh Jackman because The Wolverine lost its director and a plan to shoot in Japan turned precarious, Universal Pictures has offered Jackman the huntsman role in Snow White and the Huntsman. The Rupert Sanders-directed film has Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron ready to star. Also, I’ve heard Universal is in talks with Hossein Amini to come aboard and do some script work on a project slated to begin production mid-September.

Whether Jackman accepts is unclear.

What makes Huntsman a possibility is that Fox doesn’t have to rush The Wolverine.

The funny thing is that he’s Universal’s second option. Many fans on Twitter suggested him immediately after we found out Viggo was out.

Interestingly enough, Hugh was supposed to work in a movie with Rob titled Unbound Captives where he would play his father. It seems like that movie is no longer in Rob’s plans, sadly.
