Tuesday, May 31st, 2011Mitt Romney Gives His Vote To Twilight
Tuesday, May 31st, 2011
Mitt Romney, a republican Presidential hopeful, shared on the Today Show that he likes the Twilight series:
“I mean, I like the Twilight series,” Romney told NBC’s Jamie Gangel in an interview that aired Tuesday. “I thought it was fun.”
“I don’t like vampires personally, I don’t know any, but you know my granddaughter was reading it and I thought, ‘Well this looks like fun,’ so I read that,” he added
The above picture was taken when Rob was promoting Remember Me on The View. You know a dude’s a fan when he approaches Rob backstage at a major show!
See, people? It’s not hard for men to like Twilight. Simple as that.

Jamie Campbell Bower Scores Lead Role in ‘The Mortal Instruments’
Tuesday, May 31st, 2011
Great news for Jamie! After having minor roles in two of the most popular franchises ever, he gets a shot at leading his own franchise with The Mortal Instruments. Deadline reports:
Jamie Campbell Bower will get the male lead in The Mortal Instruments, the Scott Charles Stewart-directed adaptation of the Cassandra Clare novel series. He’ll play Jace Wayland, starring alongside Lily Collins, who’ll play the lead heroine Clary Fray. She has The Sight, and can see both demons and Shadowhunters. Jace is one of the best of the latter. When Clary’s mother is abducted, she is forced to learn about her bloodline and abilities in order to get her mother back. Clare’s series is comprised of six novels and is expected to launch a franchise. The role has been considered a potential star-making vehicle for an actor, and there has been much speculation on who’ll get it.
A couple of weeks ago he tweeted the following:
Congrats, Jamie! We wish you the best of luck.
Another Twilight connection: the books feature quotes from Stephenie Meyer’s review. She loves the series.

Kristen Stewart Pixel Art Tribute
Monday, May 30th, 2011
Here it is! Finally! After Rob’s 25th birthday Pixel Art tribute, I decided I needed to make one of Kristen asap, as a late birthday tribute and gift to her fans. I usually get my best ideas for Rob’s birthday and never do anything in time for Kristen’s. On the bright side, Kristen’s projects always end up so much better because I learn from the mistakes I made with Rob’s projects, and practice makes perfect, right?
This project was no different. Like last year’s KStew font, it was definitely better than Rob’s because not only did I improve my skills and a few things, but there were more little Kstews to draw because of all her movie roles, photoshoots and appearances making the whole tribute more ellaborated and a lot more colorful.
In this pixel tribute you will see all of Kristen’s body of work, from her first TV commercials to her last public appereance. Can you identify each little KStew? All the pixel sprites are lined up chronologically: starting with her first commercial, TV movie role, then we move on to each movie and promotional photoshoots and other red carpets and TV appearances in order. All the left side pixels represent her era pre Twilight and during the first Twilight movie, and the right side of the wallpaper pictures the rest of her recent projects and the latest Twilight movies starting with New Moon. All her photoshoots and appearances are also there. All of them. This makes 250 little KStews, more or less.
Take your time to appreciate each pixel sprite because they were all hand drawn from scratch and each of them took a few minutes to make in a techique called Pixel Art. You know the earliest video games that ever existed? They were drawn like this. I used Adobe Fireworks and drew little cartoons of Kristen point by point, paying attention to the design and pattern in her clothes, trying to recreate her signature fan favorite looks. To appreciate the work better I suggest you open the wallpaper with an image editing software and zoom in.
I zoomed in to draw each pixel too, don’t worry
.
Anyway, it took me over two weeks and tons of hours (I mean tons!) to make this project and it was done especially for Kristen’s fans who are so supportive and loyal. You can use it as a wallpaper and as a little game. I really hope you have a lot fun spotting Kstews as I did making it, and I hope you like it a lot.
Download as wallpaper:
Here are some extra tidbits on this piece:
Funniest pixel to draw? The Messenger scenes. I mean look at them…lol.
Favorites to draw? All the premiere dresses and fancy award shows outfits, such as the Oscars and the Met Galas. This is why I enjoyed making this piece more than Rob’s – the dresses! Boy suits do get a little boring after the first 20
.
Most difficult to draw? Joan Jett’s guitars (please take your time to check them out, I made every single guitar seen in the movie), the wolf from the photoshoot (power went out when I was drawing version 1 of the wolf, I wanted to die because I didn’t save it! I had to start a completely new different wolf. Now looking back I’m glad it did it, this wolf is SO much better). Also the leopard print trench coat from the Interview photoshoot was a pain in the butt. Recreating a leopard print in pixel art is more difficult than I thought. I made two different versions and stuck with the second one. Another difficult pixel to draw was Harper’s Bazaar photoshoot pixel where Kristen’s showing the back of her dress. I was not planning on making that pixel originally, but fans loved that picture so much that I had to
. Other outfits that were hard to draw were the haute couture dresses, like the dress she wore for the Italian premiere of Eclipse (nightmare to get right), the dress she wore for the London New Moon premiere (that pattern!) and the 2009 Met Gala dress. They’re not ordinary dresses so drawing them was hard.
Boring pixels to draw? I don’t think I was bored making anything, but when the outfit is simple, it’s kind of less exciting. But I appreciate those simple outfits because I draw them more quickly and I move on to the next one. It would be tough if all pixels were very ellaborated and hard to draw.
Favorite final products? Oscars, Met Galas, Joan Jett and Harper’s Bazaar photoshoot
. So difficult to make but they came out great.
Extra touches: I added a famous, and appropriate for the theme, Kristen quote written with our very own KStew handwritting font, which you can download here.
Anyway, I expect your comments and I hope you share this piece of work wherever you can. It was made with lots of love, not just for Kristen but for the wonderful and supportive fans. I really want to hear from as many of you as possible, so feel free to repost it on your blog, just don’t forget to link back if you do. Enjoy!
