Looks like Kristen Stewart and Sam Claflin will be in Mexico city on May 19th for the Latin American promo of Snow White and the Huntsman! Los 40 Principales, the radio station network that took Robert to Mexico for Twilight, Kristen and Taylor for New Moon and Taylor for Abduction announced on their live radio show last night, and confirmed on their website and Twitter that Kristen and Sam will be part of a videochat where fans can submit their questions here for a chance to attend and ask the questions personally. The best questions will be picked and 40 fans will be present. This video chat works as a fan press conference, which is exactly what they did for New Moon. Fans ask the questions instead of the press.

Fans were confused because the use of the term “videochat”, but that’s the term they use for this fan conference because it’s livestreamed online for all the world. Here’s a screencap of the Abduction videochat in Mexico city:

So there you have it. After weeks of teasing with a huge surprise for Kristen Stewart fans in Mexico, looks like Los 40 delivered pretty well. This is Kristen’s first visit to Mexico since 2009.

We’re also hearing that the visit involves a press junket with South American media as well.

UPDATE: @depelicula40 has announced that the winners will also get to take a picture with Kristen and Sam, like they did on the videochats for New Moon and Abduction.

Acclaimed Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (Babel, Amores Perros, 21 Grams) is responsible for Kristen Stewart’s involvement in On The Road, Walter Salles reveals to The Hollywood Reporter.

“‘Look no further,’ ” Salles remembers the Babel director telling him. “‘I’ve just seen the first cut of Sean Penn’s Into the Wild, and there’s this 16-year-old girl you’ll fall in love with.’” But once she became a star of the blockbuster Twilight franchise, much maneuvering was required to accommodate her schedule. It was critical that filming on Road end before October 2010, when shooting needed to start on Breaking Dawn — Parts 1 and 2. To Salles’ relief, Stewart remained committed to the role for which she received about one-hundredth of her $20 million salary for Breaking Dawn — Part 2.

It’s amazing how great directors have had an eye on her for years. A collaboration between Kristen and Alejandro needs to happen. Do you have a favoite Iñarritu film?

MTV just announced that Kristen will present at the MTV Movie Awards with Charlize Theron. No other Twilight cast members have been tapped to present or attend, but we’ll keep you posted!

Great news! On The Road finally has distribution for North America. Via The Hollywood Reporter:

In advance of the film’s world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, AMC Networks has acquired all U.S. rights to Walter Salles’ On the Road, the screen adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s classic novel.

Road will be released jointly by the company’s film distribution labels IFC Films and Sundance Selects theatrically in the late fall.

“Walter Salles has made an ambitious and accomplished film out of Jack Kerouac’s iconic novel. It’s a classic road movie with career-making performances from Garrett Hedlund and Sam Riley, and a terrific showcase for Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst,” Josh Sapan, CEO and president of AMC Networks, said.

“This is a major step forward for us, and we plan to work across AMC Networks in putting all our resources together to make this theatrical release into a significant cultural event,” Jonathan Sehring, president of Sundance Selects/IFC Films, added.
