living under a rock, Billy Burke finally has his own show and it’s all kinds of awesome You need to check it out asap. There’s only been two episodes so far, so you can still catch up. This is the preview of the upcoming third episode. Give this show a chance. You will not regret it.
Looks like Billy Burke made quite the impression during the filming of his new NBC show’s pilot. He had been cast as a minor character and now he bagged the leading role! Cinemablend reports:
Twilight star Billy Burke has gotten a promotion over at the NBC drama he joined earlier this month. He was set to play one of the Marines in the pilot, but with the project already in production and the lead still not cast, apparently Burke earned himself a bump up to the starring role.
Billy Burke joined the cast of the NBC drama, which at the time was titled Revolution, to play a Marine who, along with a group of other people, is attempting to find loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have somehow ceased to exist. The now untitled project is being directed by Jon Favreau, and was still on the hunt for a lead as it went into production last week.
His character is described as “resourceful” but having a “dark and dangerous” side. This is also his first leading role in a TV series. Jon Favreau, by the way, is none other than the director of Iron Man. We cannot wait for this show; Billy is always a delight to watch onscreen. Congrats, Billy!
He refers to the Smithsonian museum in Washington DC. One of their museums keeps pop culture relics, though he’s only joking of course, but maybe one day?
We’re still waiting for more tweets from the cast. Surprisingly we haven’t heard a peep – or tweet? – from Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, or any of the actors who play the humans: Anna Kendrick, Justin Chon, Mike Welch or Christian Serratos, who all left Vancouver almost at the same time. Come on, guys! One final thought on the end of the saga?
It’s that time of the year already! MTV wants you to choose the nominees for the MTV Movie Awards. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is up for several categories as potential nominee. If Eclipse receives enough votes in each category, then it will be officially nominated. You have ’til April 5th to cast your votes, so let’s work that magic like every year:
>> Best Fight. This year several action scenes are in the shortlist, and the competition gets interesting for Robert Pattinson vs. Bryce Dallas Howard & Xavier Samuel. There’s Joseph Gordon-Levitt vs. Subconscious for ‘Inception’ and Daniel Radcliffe & Rupert Grint vs. Helena Bonham Carter for ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1′. Again, a tough category with movies supported by strong fan bases.
>> Best Villain. Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel are up against each other, and against epic villains like Ralph Fiennes’ Voldemort. Also pre-nominated, Billy Burke for Red Riding Hood!
>> Best line. Edward’s “doesn’t he own a shirt?” is up next to some of the best one-liners in movies in 2010, while Jacob’s “Let’s face it, I’m hotter than you” is also in the running.
>> Best Male Breathrough Star. Jackson Rathbone is pre-nominated for The Last Airbender! Xavier Samuel is nominated for Eclipse, and TomStu is nominated for Waiting for Forever! (yeah, he’s not a cast member exactly, but isn’t he an unofficial member of this fandom? ).
>> Best Female Performance. Our dear Kristen is pre-nominated again. She has some tough competition from Emma Watson, Natalie Portman, Jennifer Aniston, Emma Stone and other great actresses so we have to focus on voting in this particular category. Only two other actresses have strong fan bases behind them, so with a little devotion, we’ll give Kristen her third Golden Pop Corn.
>> Best Male Performance. Rob and Taylor are nominated for Eclipse. Like with Kristen, they’re competing with great actors and strong fan bases, so we need to pay special attention to this category as well.
>> Best Movie. Eclipse is nominated, and some wonderful Academy Award nominated movies that appealed to young audiences as well are also in the running. Our biggest competition is Harry Potter and Inception, so let’s vote!
Let’s clean the house like every year, people! Twilight might have its detractors, but they’re not as loud as we are. Let’s show them what made Twilight a success!
One of the only two Charlies we like these days (the other being the awesome Charlie Bewley), Billy Burke, is promoting his new movie Drive Angry. He’s answering tons of questions about Breaking Dawn, so we’re putting together the best videos from his press junket. Enjoy:
In an interview with the LA Times, David Slade talked about a deleted scene from Eclipse that is available on the DVD bonus features where Charlie and Bella have a bonding moment after Bella’s graduation.
“It’s all in Billy’s face, when you watch the film 30-odd times or more, there’s more in his face than in his words,” Slade said. “I was so confident that was going to make it in, we did it in one shot. It was two people trying to be as close to each other as possible.”
