Billy Burke Thanks Fans For Support, Debut CD Makes #1 on CD Baby

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Billy Burke has posted a new message on his website, thanking fans for their support in making his debut album Removed a success on CD Baby, the world’s largest online distributor of independent music:

There are few times in my life I can remember the anticipation of an event actually being outshone by it’s happening. I’m sure I’m not alone in recognizing that most times the climaxes we so fervently strive for, will pale in comparison to the dreamy visions we allow ourselves leading up to them.

The realization of this record showing up anywhere on a BILLBOARD CHART (this week #48 on the “Heatseekers” list) Much less becoming the NUMBER ONE BESTSELLER on CD Baby, the world’s largest online distributor of independent music, has left me in unfamiliar territory. I don’t know what the opposite of disenchanted is… but for the first time in a long while, that’s what I’m feeling and it’s pretty f****** great.

The upshot of this post is to exclaim in no uncertain terms that YOU who are reading this are directly responsible for the success this project is having. There is no ugly corporate monster pulling switches and manipulating the sales or promotion of this album. There’s no motive other than the desire to provide you all with some music that in turn, just happens to provide ME with an artistic outlet I’ve kept bottled up for more than a few years.

Read the complete post on his official website:

Meanwhile, to support Billy we’ve added a link to purchase his cd on Amazon.
It’s on the left navigation bar along with all the top products we recommend the fans. We usually reserve those ads for the best Twilight products, and the best non-Twilight projects from the cast, so now that Billy is on Amazon, we have a spot for him on the sidebar.

Latest E-Mail From Billy Burke’s Newsletter

Monday, June 21st, 2010

Billy Burke sent in the following e-mail to his newsletter suscribers:

Don’t know really how to feel. I’ve been so out-of-control-busy
lately but when I woke up I realized “Holy Shit– my record comes
out tomorrow”. As most of you know this has been quite a long time
coming for me so my emotions are all over the place. Anyway we’re
all very proud of this album so I hope you all enjoy it. In case it
needs mentioning, Removed is due to go live at 12 noon, east coast
time. (that’s 9 am over here on the west coast) tomorrow 6/22. I’ll
be sending an email out as soon as it’s up, ready and available.

While the album will be available digitally in all the usual spots
such as itunes, we have (it now seems unwisely) only shipped 1000
Cd’s to our distributor and given the amount of feedback we have
received so far we are a little nervous that they may sell out
pretty fast.

I’m normally an itunes kind of guy, however in this case the
physical copies are a helluva lot sweeter because only THEY contain
the 12 page booklet with the lyrics, photos, and all the other stuff
that kind of makes it feel like an album. That said, keep in mind I
grew up buying 12 inch vinyl records and these kooky little things
we called “cassette tapes” so maybe that’s just me :)

Anyhow, a couple other important things to report. I’m humbled and
proud to announce that a portion of the proceeds will be going to
VH1 “Save the Music”. Sadly, music programs are being cut all across
the country. VH1 Behind the Music is dedicated to keeping those
programs alive by donating instruments and much needed funding to
help keep America’s kids making music. A portion of the sale of each
album sold will be going to this amazing cause.

Finally, I wanted to do something to say thank you to you guys
(the subscribers) as well, and so for the first 72 hours the price
of the physical copies of the album will be a mere $12.97. After 72
hours (if they don’t sell out first) the price will be going up.

So relatively speaking, for less than the price of a ticket to
ECLIPSE, not only can you only pick up a new album but you can help
some kids get the instruments they need while you’re at it.

That’s it for now. Keep your eye on your inbox.

P.S. I’m still working on those Q&A answers and I hope to have them
to you in the next few days.

P.P.S Congrats to the winners of the record release party tickets.
I’m looking forward to seeing you guys there on Tuesday.

Video: “Removed” by Billy Burke

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

Billy Burke premiered on his official website his debut song “Remove”. He also posted a message explaining the video and thanking fans for the support.

I can’t tell you all how invaluable your involvement has been in helping spread the word about this album. Again, thanks so much for all the kind words. As I write this, the rest of the record is being completed and mastered. We’re still on schedule for a June 22nd release. It’s really been quite cool for me to have this place to communicate with you all in a more personal setting. That said, I’ve been a bit lame lately due to a non-stop schedule in terms of responding to your comments and emails. I WILL get better.

Billy, you already ROCK!

Support Billy!

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Billy Burke (Bella’s awesome dad in the Twilight movies) has let his fans know through his Twitter page (@billy_burke) about his upcoming album and the launch of his brand new official website:, which is still under construction. If you sign up for his website you’ll be on the list for a free download of one of his songs.
Billy is amazing, needless to say, he’s very active and involved with the fandom through his Twitter and quickly became one of the fanbases’ favorite cast members (it also helped that he made Charlie Swan a character all of his own and managed to steal every scene he was in) so why not thank him and support him in the next great step of his career?
We’ll be following the release of his album, but in the meantime you should head over to his official site and read his first entry blog, which explains his motivations to pursue a music career. Don’t forget to sign up for a free song!

Also, here at TwilightPoison we made a special twibbon as another way of showing our support to Billy. Just go here and add the twibbon to your profile. If you don’t want to use the twibbon, you can still help out by re-tweeting the link. This is the second twibbon we’ve made for Billy. The first twibbon was made to support him on IMDB and helping him boost the site’s starmeter by simply visiting his profile on IMDB. That twibbon didn’t exactly take off, but we can still promote it, so click here if you want to help Billy’s starmeter on IMDB.

We wish Billy the best of luck, and we offer our site to promote whatever he needs! He’s too awesome not to support him, so let’s do it, guys!
