Thank you SO much to everyone who RTed and shared our content. Posting live from the TV to the computer is not easy work, so I really appreciate every fan that shared our content with others. We broke our record last night and during the show we had between 1,000 and 2,000 fans in our gallery at the same time! How did our server not collapse? I have no idea. We do have a fantastic server, but I’m still very surprised. We also got over 200 new twitter followers during the show and more mentions than ever. Hard work paid off! :)

A little request to fellow bloggers though, I know I posted some pics on Twitpic too, but remember WE are the source, not Twitpic. So if you enjoy our content and you took stuff from our gallery, please link back to this blog. This took a lot of effort and you guys know how it’s done by now. I didn’t tag anything because fans don’t like that, but that still means you have to give proper credit. Thanks to the wonderful blogs and sites that do credit properly. Covering events like this is not easy, so I appreciate your class and respect.

Peter Murphy Talks About Twilight, His Cameo in Eclipse and Kristen

You might remember that the God Father of Goth, Peter Purphy, had a cameo in Eclipse. It was a nod to his appearance in the David Bowie vampire flick “The Hunger”, and the idea came from directo David Slade. The above picture was posted on Twitter by David and shows Peter on the set of Eclipse ready to film his scene.

Soundspike interviewed him and asked him about his cameo as credited The Cold One:

Tell me about your appearance in “Eclipse.” How did that come to pass?
It was very short. I was very pleased. David Slade, the director, was brought in to give it some kind of edge. I wasn’t too worried either way [if I appeared in the movie]. I did want to appear in it. He said he would like me to play a short cameo role, which to him was like a secret wink to those who know who I am and what I’ve done, and a bookend to “The Hunger,” if you like. I loved it. I thought it was a very nice idea. I was thrilled to go on to the set in the mountains in Vancouver. It was amazing to be an actor for three days. I did hair, and a wig, and make up, and stunt training. The day of the shoot, I was with the young kids who are the stars of “Twilight.” It was like, “Wow. Look at this.” They had to hide me because it’s such a humungous enterprise. It was a joy to be on the set. It really enforced the fact that I do have an urge to act. Up until now I felt that was a little pretentious of me, but I do feel that I can act. Talking to David and other people on the set, they encouraged me. I’m going to hopefully look in to other opportunities to act proper. The “Twilight” thing was very short, brief moment. I enjoyed the whole process.

I have to admit, I love those movies. I think they’re very clever.
I do too. I think that young actress [Kristen Stewart] is very good. She’s lovely, too.

Help Choose The Nominees for The 2011 MTV Movie Awards!

It’s that time of the year already! MTV wants you to choose the nominees for the MTV Movie Awards. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is up for several categories as potential nominee. If Eclipse receives enough votes in each category, then it will be officially nominated. You have ’til April 5th to cast your votes, so let’s work that magic like every year:

>> Best Kiss. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart OR Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart Rob and Kristen have won twice in a row, but this year they have some strong competition from Natalie Portman & Mila Kunis for ‘Black Swan’ or Emma Watson & Daniel Radcliffe
‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1′. These movies have tons of fans!

>> Best Fight. This year several action scenes are in the shortlist, and the competition gets interesting for Robert Pattinson vs. Bryce Dallas Howard & Xavier Samuel. There’s Joseph Gordon-Levitt vs. Subconscious for ‘Inception’ and Daniel Radcliffe & Rupert Grint vs. Helena Bonham Carter for ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1′. Again, a tough category with movies supported by strong fan bases.

>> Best Villain. Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel are up against each other, and against epic villains like Ralph Fiennes’ Voldemort. Also pre-nominated, Billy Burke for Red Riding Hood!

>> Best line. Edward’s “doesn’t he own a shirt?” is up next to some of the best one-liners in movies in 2010, while Jacob’s “Let’s face it, I’m hotter than you” is also in the running.

>> Breakthrough Female. Jodelle Ferland is pre-nominated for Case 39!

>> Best Male Breathrough Star. Jackson Rathbone is pre-nominated for The Last Airbender! Xavier Samuel is nominated for Eclipse, and TomStu is nominated for Waiting for Forever! (yeah, he’s not a cast member exactly, but isn’t he an unofficial member of this fandom? ;) ).

>> Best Female Performance. Our dear Kristen is pre-nominated again. She has some tough competition from Emma Watson, Natalie Portman, Jennifer Aniston, Emma Stone and other great actresses so we have to focus on voting in this particular category. Only two other actresses have strong fan bases behind them, so with a little devotion, we’ll give Kristen her third Golden Pop Corn.

>> Best Male Performance. Rob and Taylor are nominated for Eclipse. Like with Kristen, they’re competing with great actors and strong fan bases, so we need to pay special attention to this category as well.

>> Best Movie. Eclipse is nominated, and some wonderful Academy Award nominated movies that appealed to young audiences as well are also in the running. Our biggest competition is Harry Potter and Inception, so let’s vote!

Let’s clean the house like every year, people! Twilight might have its detractors, but they’re not as loud as we are. Let’s show them what made Twilight a success! :)

‘Eclipse’ Tops Worldwide Indie Film Box Office

According to Variety:

Pics financed and sold outside the studio system such as “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and “The Expendables” are potent drivers of the global box office, as detailed by the Independent Film & Television Alliance’s list of the top 50 independent films of 2010.

“The talent and imagination of the independent film industry is evident throughout the world,” IFTA President-CEO Jean Prewitt said.

Jamie Campbell Bower at BAFTA Awards: Screencaps and Pictures + Eclipse Cameo

Jamie Campbell Bower attended the BAFTA Awards with girlfriend Bonnie Wright where Harry Potter received a special award for its contribution to British film.

Kristen Stewart was supposed to attend the ceremony to present the award Orange Rising Star, which she won last year. Sadly, since the filming of Breaking Dawn is wrapping up production in Baton Rouge and getting ready for Vancouver, these are very busy days and she was unable to attend despite alleged airport sightings.

Twilight did however have a presence at the ceremony. During the montage for the best of 2010, two Eclipse scenes were featured: the battle scenes between vampires and wolves and the “Doesn’t he have a shirt?” moment.

Metric Tweets Oscar Disappointment

Metric’s song “All Yours” was shortlisted for the Oscars for Best Original Song for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Sadly, the song didn’t make the cut and the songs: “Coming Home,” Country Strong;“I See the Light,” Tangled; “If I Rise,” 127 Hours and “We Belong Together,” Toy Story 3 were the final nominees.

The band tweeted the following after yesterday’s Oscar nominees announcement:

Our song was shortlisted for the Oscars but we didn't make the final cut, sigh. Changing out of my gown now + heading to the studio.
