Metric Tweets Oscar Disappointment

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

Metric’s song “All Yours” was shortlisted for the Oscars for Best Original Song for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Sadly, the song didn’t make the cut and the songs: “Coming Home,” Country Strong;“I See the Light,” Tangled; “If I Rise,” 127 Hours and “We Belong Together,” Toy Story 3 were the final nominees.

The band tweeted the following after yesterday’s Oscar nominees announcement:

Our song was shortlisted for the Oscars but we didn't make the final cut, sigh. Changing out of my gown now + heading to the studio.

This was Eclipse’s shot at getting an Academy Award nomination! So sad only four songs were nominated this year.

Rob To Attend the People’s Choice Awards – What You Need to Know

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011

Rob will definitely attend the People’s Choice Awards tonight!, it was confirmed. Now Gossip Cop has some extra scoop:

Gossip Cop is told exclusively by a source close to Pattinson that the actor is flying from the Breaking Dawn set in Louisiana to the awards show in L.A., just “for an hour, then back to the set.”

So while some fans are baffled as to why he can’t join Kristen and Taylor for the entire show, we think it has to do something with the scenes he needs to film. He’s probably needed more on set at the moment than Kristen or Taylor who can spend a few extra hours away from the set.

Here’s the seating arrangements for tonight:

And according to a reporter on Twitter, the cast might not stop for red carpet interviews.

prefacing this early though....very doubtful (rob especially) twilight people do interviews. will try anyways obviously!

‘Eclipse’ Was The MTV’s Second Favorite Film of the Year

Sunday, January 2nd, 2011

The results are in, and Harry Potter beat Twilight on MTV’s Favorite Film of 2010 poll.

There were 34 movies included in the poll, ranging from indie darlings like “The Kids Are All Right” to mega-blockbusters like the year’s highest-grossing film “Toy Story 3.” In truth, however, the race came down to just two movies, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1″ and “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” proving that both series’ fan bases have some seriously devoted members.

In the end, “Potter” beat out “Twilight” by a narrow 449 vote margin, with “Deathly Hallows – Part 1″ amassing 46.5 percent of the total vote to “Eclipse”‘s 37.5 percent — together accounting for a whopping 84 percent of votes.

See the complete poll on MTV. Excluding Twilight and Harry Potter, which other movies were your 2010 favorites? For me it was Inception and The Social Network :) .

Eclipse One of the 9 Best Movie Soundtracks of the Year According To Next Movie

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

Next Movie has listed the best soundtracks of the year, and Eclipse comes in at number 2!

“Eclipse” is a who’s who of moody indie rock, featuring a lineup that would make Pitchfork’s brains explode: Beck, Bat For Lashes, Metric, Vampire Weekend, Muse, the Black Keys…the list goes on and on. Perhaps this all shouldn’t be surprising given that music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas made a name for herself turning television’s “The O.C.” into an avenue for indie rock exposure, but it’s still a very pleasant surprise to see the music from a “Twilight” film become the “Singles” soundtrack of the aughts.

See the rest of the list at the source.
